Checking an AI answer before using it: five checks

Before using an AI answer, check the figures against their source, the names and dates, that the cited references exist, the commitments made on the company's behalf and the tone. An AI can be wrong with confidence: review is what makes its work reliable.

An AI assistant writes with the same confidence whether it is right or wrong. That is its strength for producing fast, and its risk for anyone who sends without reading. The good news: five checks are enough in most cases, and they take a few minutes.

The method in five points

The figures

Every figure can be found in a source you have in front of you. A figure without a source gets removed or looked up.

Names and dates

Names of people, companies, products, dates and deadlines: these are the most frequent and most visible mistakes.

Cited sources

An AI can invent an article, a law or a study that does not exist. Open the link or look up the reference before using it.

Commitments

A deadline, a discount, a guarantee: anything that commits the company must have been decided by a person, not suggested by the AI.

Tone

Read it aloud: would you have written it that way? Text that is too smooth or too enthusiastic gets noticed and costs trust.

What AI does not do for you

Review is your job, and it is what gives value to what you send. For published content, we detail the method in reviewing, sourcing and signing AI-written content. The higher the stakes, the fuller the review.

What stays out of the request

To check, do not paste sensitive data into a second assistant: check at the source, in your own tools.

Find out where you stand

Before choosing a course, the most useful step is knowing where you start. Our AI skills test asks questions matched to your role and tells you, in a few minutes, what you already do well and what would save you the most time. For a whole team, AI training for teams starts from your real tasks, not from a generic course.

    AI-written content: review, source, sign

An AI model writes fast, but what goes out in the company's name commits it. Three steps make a generated text publishable: a review that checks facts and promises, a source for every number, and a person who signs.
