E-commerce · Takeover and turnaround

An acquired online store, put back on its feet in a month without sacrificing its SEO

Peluche Kingdom sells plush toys on Shopify. We took it over with an incomplete catalogue, an ageing theme and sales practices to clean up. In a month, the store changed theme, catalogue and languages, and every withdrawn address got its redirect.

The starting point

At takeover, the store ran on a 2021 theme, with a two-item menu, broken automatic collections and product pages without reliable sizes or materials. “Only N left in stock” and “N people are viewing” counters showed random numbers.

Everything had to be brought up to standard without losing the traffic earned over several years, and without stopping sales.

What we did

A catalogue you can filter

Every product was audited. References with no future were archived by crossing sales with Search Console, the others got sizes, materials and ages in structured fields, then descriptions rewritten by AI and proofread. Regulatory wording is still written by a human.

A new theme, released without risk

Navigation by department, mega menu, big-retailer filters on mobile. Every release goes through an unpublished copy, a comparison and a rollback point.

SEO protected

A redirect set up before each removal, tags redone in every language, translated addresses and buying guides linked to the product pages.

Three more languages

German, Danish and Swedish, including navigation, product pages and image alt text.

An honest store

Fake urgency counters, inaccurate delivery promises, an unsourced claim and forgotten discount codes: all removed. Trust is also earned by what you take away.

A team alerted at the right time

Orders, refunds and late deliveries reach team channels, an assistant answers order-tracking questions, abandoned carts get a two-email follow-up.

What it changes

  • A customer finds their plush toy by size, material and age, in their own language.
  • The store can grow: new supplier ranges are imported by script, simulated first, with rollback.
  • The catalogue is shown through Google Merchant in 100 countries.
  • Order tracking, follow-ups and alerts no longer take anyone’s time.

  • Several workstreams are still open: verified reviews, consent banner, supplier compliance documents.
